West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board conducts West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE), a Common Entrance Examination in offline mode (paper based examination) for admission to different Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Government Colleges and Self Financed Institutes in the State.

Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria for appearing in the WBJEE-2018

  1. Applicant must be a citizen of India.
  2. A candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2001.
  3. For admission to the degree level Marine Engineering Course The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.12.2018 and the upper age limit is 25 Years as on 31.12.2018.
  4. Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination i.e. the ‘10+2’ examination in Physics, Mathematics  and any one compulsory  subject Chemistry/Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Computer Application.
  5. Candidate must have passed each subject with at least 45%. (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category e.g. ST, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD).
  6. Candidate must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.
  7. The Board of the said Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the Central Government or State Government concerned.

Fees
WBJEE -2018 Examination Fees

  • The amount of fees to be paid for appearing in the WBJEE-2018 is ₹500(Rupees five hundred only) plus the Bank’s Service Charges.
  • The fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.

Pattern
WBJEE 2018 Exam's pattern

  •  It’s a paper based examination i.e offline mode (OMR based examination).
  •  In every subject, all questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
  • There will be three categories of questions in each subject.
  •  In each categories, Not attempting the question will fetch zero mark.
  • The no. of questions in each part is as follows:

In Category I:

  • Only one answer option is correct.
  •  For each correct answer, one mark will be allotted.
  •  Incorrect response will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.
  •  For any combination of response with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.

In Category-II:

  •  Only one answer option is correct.
  •  For each correct answer, two mark will be allotted.
  •  Incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks.
  •  For any combination of response with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks.

In Category-III

  • One or more answer option(s) are correct.
  • For each correct answer, two mark will be allotted.
  • Any combination of correct and wrong response will be treated as incorrect and will yield 0 (zero) mark.
  • For partially correct response, marks awarded will be = 2 x (no. of correct options marked ÷ total no. of correct options).
